Best Graders Tutors (“BGT”, “we”) provides exam preparation for secondary school students. This policy explains what personal information we collect through bgt.com.ng, why we collect it and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Information we collect

  • Account details: the student's name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Student profile: date of birth, gender, school, address, examination and subjects, which help us place and support the student.
  • Parent or guardian contact: name, relationship, phone number and, optionally, email address.
  • Enrolment and payment records: the programmes you enrol in, amounts, payment references, payment method type and, for cards, the card brand and last four digits.
  • Security information: sign-in times, IP address and browser type, used to protect your account.

What we never collect

Card numbers, CVVs and bank passwords are entered directly on Paystack's secure checkout. They are never sent to or stored by BGT.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account, including email confirmation and password resets.
  • To manage enrolments, issue receipts and confirm payments with Paystack.
  • To contact students and parents about classes, schedules and payments.
  • To meet legal, accounting and safeguarding obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Paystack — payment processing.
  • Brevo — delivery of account and payment emails.
  • Cloudinary — storage of programme and staff images.
  • Our hosting and database providers, which store the platform securely.

How long we keep it

We keep account and enrolment information while your account is active. Payment and receipt records are kept for as long as accounting law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

You can view and update your profile at any time from your account. You may also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian may make these requests on their behalf.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: secure session cookies that keep you signed in and protect forms against forgery. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
